Prague, 1610. The Emperor Rodolphe II lives in fear of a legend
warning that the Golem, a living statue, will return to free the Jews
from persecution. He orders the arrest and torture of the one man
who knows the Golem's secret, unaware that he is precipitating the
catastrophe he dreads.

"Le Golem" was an unusual choice for Duvivier, who rarely ventured
into horror and fantasy. Indeed, those elements of the story are far
less prominent here than in Paul Wegener's 1920 silent classic, "Der
Golem", to which this can be regarded as a sequel. Duvivier's film
centres on the crisis of the feeble-minded Emperor Rodolphe (Harry
Baur), a man who describes himself, in a monologue with the sleeping
Golem, as "staggering down a long dark road". Rodolphe, as played
by Baur, is the real monster of this monster movie - a terrifying, pathetic
figure sunken in self-indulgence and driven mad by fear.

All Sales Final - I will gladly replace any defective disc.

2. We do our best to offer the finest quality transfers currently available. Customer agrees there are no refunds for video and/or audio quality concerns/issues.

3. On rare occasions, a disc may be defective due to a technical issue during manufacture. Testing is done to eliminate this possibility, but it still may occur. In these instances, we will replace the offending disc at no charge. The following are not considered defects (this list is by example and not meant to be exhaustive):

(a) DVD/Blu Ray Player issues
(b) DVD/Blu Ray player compatibility issues
(c) Mishandling by the user
(d) User does not like the movie or its contents, the previews, subtitles translation, etc.
